The story
The Goblin Teasmade was an alarm clock crossed with a kettle: at a preset time it would boil water, brew a pot of tea and click on a little light, all before you'd even opened your eyes. It became a proud fixture on British bedside tables through the 60s and 70s, before electric kettles and hot-drinks machines made it seem faintly ridiculous. It never fully vanished, though, and is now enjoying a nostalgic revival with smart modern reissues.
