The story
The Stylophone was Britain's tiny pocket synthesiser, played by touching a metal keyboard with a silver stylus to make its unmistakable buzzy whine. Inventor Brian Jarvis and his company Dubreq turned it into a Christmas sensation after Rolf Harris demonstrated it on television, and it even turned up on a David Bowie classic. The little machine vanished from shops for decades before being relaunched in 2007, so you can still pick one up brand new today.
