Opal Fruits were the chewy, fruit-flavoured sweets that Mars launched in Britain, wrapped in that instantly recognisable striped packet and sold with the jingle 'Made to make your mouth water'. In 1998 Mars renamed them Starburst to match the sweet's branding worldwide, and the Opal Fruits name vanished from British shelves for two decades until a brief 2018 nostalgia relaunch brought it back for a limited run.
